Night photography

We had a night photography excursion into dandenong we went to Heritage Hill as well as busy Princess Hwy and some streets around dandenong, and had some great outcomes. I took about 100 pictures but only a good 25 were worth keeping. It was only one of the few times that i had done night photography so really is was like a trial. I was also using a new camera that i hadn't had a chance to experiment on, but this night was a good night to see how it worked. Here are a few of the images i liked the most, hope you enjoy them as much as i did taking them.

My fish journal

For one of our assignments our theme was fish, i found it hard to do this assignment as i am not a big fan of dealing with dead living things but i did it and think i didn't do very bad at all. We had to come up with 12 different images showing how the fish was decomposing from the whole fish down to the bones and so on. I chose here are a few of my favorite.

Urban Myth - Resurrection Mary

My Urban Myth was The Resurrection Mary. Mary was a young girl who went out to a dance one night with her boyfriend. She was dressed in a beautiful white ball gown and had her hair up and had very nice shoes on as well . The couple had a fight and Mary decided to leave and started to walk home. On her way home she was hit my a car and was killed. Mary was berried at Resurrection Cemetery which was just down the road from where she had been hit. They say Mary still walks down the road of where she was killed. Truck drivers have reported picking up a lady wearing the same cloths and looking very much like Mary. The truck drivers have said that they pick her up and she doesn't say anything to them she just points up the road towards the cemetery. Once they reach the cemetery she asks to be let out and once she leaves the truck she disappears into the cemetery. And can no longer be found. Also it has been reported that a lady driving past the cemetery saw someone trying to get out of the gates, so she called the police but when they got there, there was no one to be found, but what they did find was on the gates where hand marks like someone had been holding on to them and trying to get out. The gates where replaced on several occasions but every time they would replace them the hand marks would just keep reappearing. They say that Mary doesn't cause any harm to anyone just likes to wonder.

Free time adventures :0)

Photography is a passion of mine and i enjoy heading out taking pictures when i get the chance. My fav spot is down in brighton at the beach houses. The amazing colours and how they complement each other is very beautiful to see. This is the best one i think from this trip. It was a little over cast but i still think its a good image :0)

Stress time!!!!!

As i am sitting here trying to finish everything for tomorrow, the stress levels are high. I normally am the first one to finish work and hand it in before the due date but this year i feel i am always just that one step behind and never can catch up. This year has been hard for me and i feel if it wasnt for what i have delt with i would be more on time and up to date with everything. But at the end of the day we are only human we cant be perfect with everything :0)

This week for the first time i have been proud of what i have drawn, i know i cant draw but on tuesday this week i looked at what i have drawn and i cant believe i did that all on my own. Drawing class used to be "oh no i have drawing today" but now i really enjoy it and i think that that partly is a confidence thing aswell. I am even taking a big leap of faith and now trying to draw my little girl and other things and people, yet 12 months ago i would never have done this. So i now say i can draw it might not be perfect but i can, instead of saying i cant draw when really i can :0)

Is this course for me???

As i sit in class as assignments get handed out to us for the holiday peroid i ask myself is this course for me? I love the work and love the people in the class they are a great group of people but i still ask myself do i have the skills, so i have what it takes to do this class and do it well?

I have never done any design work or video work or even painting, i believe my strenths are photography as i love it with a passion. But doing this class has opened my eyes to new things expanding my mind to a new way of art and a way in which i can grow doing something very diffrent and being pulled out of my comfort zone, but at the same time feeling very comfortable in what i am doing, i am not saying it's not hard or nerve racking but its fun and as i have always been told if it doesn't work the first time pick yourself up and try again.

I now know as we attend classes and try new things i believe i can do this course and it is for me, and i am going to do the very best i can with what skills i do have and gain more as the year goes on. Its practice that makes things perfect, so i have alot of praticing to do :0)

Circle, Square and triangles

This is our assignment were we had to come up with 12 diffrent designs by drawing but only using Circles, Squares and triangles. Here are a few designs i did i wasnt happy with most of them but for the first time designing anything like this i think it isnt bad :0)

Self Portrait

This image is a self portrait, the photo was taken and then in photo shop had colour added to it and a few things changed. I really like how it has turned out. When i think of me i think of a bright colourful personality. I then added some glazing over the top, it isnt 100% finished as i feel there are some dark spots i would like to change but just thought i would show a work in progress, hope you enjoy it as much as i did making it :0)

Cabbage drawing

This is one of the very drawings that i have done. Many people i have asked to tell me what they think it is i have had very few people come even close to what it really is. I wasn't very happy with the out come of my drawing.

As i looked around the class i saw some amazing drawings and thought to myself oh i wish i could draw like them or even half as good as some in the class. But as david reminded us we cant compare ourselfs to others, i saw a diffrent view of my drawing. I have never done drawing before well apart from the stick figures.

As i know i am not a great drawer at the end of the day i have put 110% in what i have created and thats all i can ask of myself, to do the very best i can.

So here is my drawing of the cabbage. :0)

Well i sat down and tried to find 50 ways in which you can use a brick. 3D Models

When we started to begin work on our models we had a sheet of white foam and an idea in our heads, but as we started work on them they all started to come together and we were on our way to produce our own little world. It was good to be able to work on them for most of friday beacuse i found that once i started i didnt want to stop as i had so many ideas i just wanted to keep producing and exploring.

Week Three

When we first started the course it was quiet scarey with all the assignments getting harded out and most of all the drawing classes they to were added to the scarey list. But as we are moving on in the course it has become clear that now everything is settling down and and has found its place. I have never done any drawing before and i have found that some of the other students are in the same boat so as a class i feel that we are moving on together yet starting from diffrent points. But we have other students in the class who are amazing drawers who have a beautiful talent with the pencil, which i feel pushers us other students to put 100% into what we draw. Even though we may not have the skill we can learn form those who do. I feel i have found a love of art more now that have the chance to express what i feel through our works. With our circle, triangle and square assignment i felt we were very restricted in what we could do as we only had three items that we could draw, but as i and i am sure others have found you can do so much with three items, shades, tones and various colours from one pencil or even ink. When doing the drawings i feel if you dont think about what you are doing and just let your hands go you can produce amazing works. Also it is such a nice feeling within the class as we all get along, we all help each other out and we can be resources for each other as some might know things about artists that we may be working on, so its great to be working wth a great bunch of people who can work so well together,
